Cats can enjoy the spirit of the holidays. In fact, cats probably enjoy the holidays more than their human counterparts do. To cats, the holidays are filled with all sorts of fun paper, crinkling tree limbs, flashing lights and forbidden food. What's not to love?
But living with a cat (especially a rambunctious cat like Fergus) around the holidays can be a trial for we humans. These guys are into everything--all the time--and they can be relentless with their love and enthusiasm. We need to come up with new things to entertain them, so they will leave the things we love alone.
So when I was invited by Sweet Purrfections to participate in a Secret Paws gift exchange, I jumped at the chance. I got something awesome for my kids, and since someone else was doing the picking, I was likely to get something I haven't gotten before.
Our package, sent by the awesome folks at Broken Teepee, came over the weekend. And I couldn't be happier with what came in our gift box.
There's something in here for everyone. For example, Popoki the picky eater will be thrilled as anything with her big bag of Bonita flakes. Those fish sprinkles make even boring meals taste great, and this big shipment means she'll almost never run out of the goodness.
Blind cat Lucy was thrilled with these little crinkle toys that make noise when they're compressed. She doesn't enjoy toys with bells and whistles, as those noises are too overwhelming for her. But these little foil noises are just perfect.
Fergus and little foster kitty Eartha were equally happy with these little catnip balls, topped off with feathers. They're perfect for batting around from room to room with glee, which is just what these two cats have been doing since the gifts were unpacked.
And there were soaps and a coloring book for me, which will be perfect for those long and cold nights of winter. I'm thrilled to have those.
Gift exchanges like this are a great way to entertain your cats--and they help you learn more about treats and toys you've never heard of before. If you've never participated in an exchange like this, I highly recommend it.
